Opportunities for inclusion in the financial system in Latin America and the Caribbean
A woman who saves is a woman that changes lives

Why it is necessary

Saving money in a bank account — the foundation of all financial services and a tool for civic inclusion — enables low-income people, especially women, to even out their consumption, invest in production, increase their negotiating skills, self-confidence, social influence and political participation, and better protect themselves against risks that could affect their families or businesses. It also helps reduce operating costs and increase the impact of existing conditional cash transfer programs. This project therefore proposes including access to formal financial services, mainly savings, in various social protection programs.
