State of the project

Implemented and Expanding: In October 2009, the first pilots were implemented in two districts. In early 2010, expansion began to 24 more districts.

Target group

Women who receive conditional cash transfers through the JUNTOS program.

Scope of project

Number of districts : 26 (San Jerónimo, Pichirhua, Huanta, Luricocha, Cajabamba, Condebamba, Ccorca, Quehue, Rondocan,Coporaque, Curgos, Huamachuco, Usquil, Agallpampa, Julcan, Santiago de Chuco, Cachicadan, Caminaca, Cupi, Llallli, San Juan de Salinas, Paucarcolla, Ahuaycha, Daniel Hernandez, Acomayo and Sivia) 

Number of beneficiaries: 28,166

Project time frame

The project will last two years. At the end of that time, the beneficiaries in the 26 districts are expected to be effectively included in the financial system through the use of their savings accounts.
