State of the project

Preparatory Phase. Initial Design. The first phase is tentatively scheduled to begin in September 2010.

Target group

Beneficiaries of the PPS’ Human Development Voucher (Bono de Desarrollo Humano, BDH) and Human Development Credit (Crédito de Desarrollo Humano, CDH) programs.

Project Scope

• Number of municipalities: Between 6 and 12 parishes. Ecuador’s political jurisdictions are divided into provinces, cantons and parishes.
• Number of beneficiaries: 30,000

Project time frame

The first phase of the project has a two-year time frame. At the end of this period, the beneficiaries are expected to be effectively integrated into the financial system through the use of their savings accounts. At the end of the first year of the project, after an analysis of outcomes, a second phase is expected to begin, reaching 300,000 beneficiaries.
