Project status


In September 2010, a framework cooperation agreement was signed between the Autoridad de Supervisión del Sistema Financiero and Proyecto Capital. The assessment was completed in June 2011, and at the end of that year a study of the beneficiaries’ perceptions of the project’s key ideas was completed. A roundtable is planned to analyze the results of the assessment before beginning the design.

Target population


Women and men who are beneficiaries of Programa Puente and who receive government subsidies from that program.

 

Project scope


Geographic coverage: 1 Region, Metropolitan Region.

Number of beneficiaries: 4,000


 

Project time frame


The project has a one-year time frame. By the end of that period, the beneficiaries are expected to have developed a culture of saving.

Project status


Design: The project is expected to begin in the first half of 2012.

 

Target population


Beneficiaries of the Bono de Desarrollo Humano (BDH) and Crédito de Desarrollo Humano (CDH), both part of the Programa de Protección Social.

 

Project scope


Number of municipalities: Between 6 and 12 parishes. Ecuador’s political jurisdictions are divided into provinces, cantons and parishes.

Number of beneficiaries: 30,000

 

Project time frame


The first phase of the project has a two-year time frame. At the end of that period, the beneficiaries in the municipalities involved in the project are expected to be effectively included in the financial system through the use of their savings accounts. At the end of the first year, and after an evaluation of outcomes, the second phase of the project will begin; it is expected to reach 300,000 beneficiaries.

Implemented and in expansion: The first pilots began in two districts in October 2009. In 2010, the project added 24 more districts in the highlands, on the coast and in the Amazon region.

Women who receive conditional cash transfers from the JUNTOS program.

 

Project Scope


Number of districts: 26 (San Jerónimo, Pichirhua, Huanta, Luricocha, Cajabamba, Condebamba, Ccorca, Quehue, Rondocan, Coporaque, Curgos, Huamachuco, Usquil, Agallpampa, Julcan, Santiago de Chuco, Cachicadan, Caminaca, Cupi, Llalli, San Juan de Salinas, Paucarcolla, Ahuaycha, Daniel Hernandez, Acomayo and Sivia)  

Number of beneficiaries: 28,166.

 

Project time frame


The first pilots had a two-year time frame. By 2012, the beneficiaries in the 26 districts are expected to be effectively included in the financial system through their use of savings accounts.
